ShoreTel Emergency Notification Client (STPSEN) / 911 software

Instructions

Used by public safety to receive notifications when an emergency communications system is activated on campus. The call is first sent to DES?
The install can be found in \\nefs\Apps\911 Software\STPSENClientSetup5.1.0
The application is called STPSENClientSetup, double click it to run the install. Note: when STPSEN is already installed, running the installer allows you to repair or remove the application.
You can click through the installer using the generic options except for except when it asks whether you want the app to be installed for everyone using this computer or just this user. Click “Everyone”.

Once the install is complete, you can open the app from where it is installed on the desktop or type STPS in the start menu.
The home page looks like this:

To set it up, click on “Settings…” in the top right corner to open the following menu:

You will want to fill out the following information:
User Name: should already be filled out, if not it is just the username of the person who will be using the application.
User Profile: This will be the name of the computer
Name or IP Address: this will be “shoretel.cecilcc.edu”
TCP/IP Port: this should also be filled in automatically.
Additionally, you will want to check the option “Start the ShoreTel EN client automatically when I log into Windows”.
Once that is done, hit “OK”. The app will automatically try to make a connection. If this user has been given permission to connect to the server. For a user with the correct permissions, you will get a green banner at the bottom saying connection successful. As you can see I do not and have been disconnected. Once you have a successful connection you are good to go!
