Getting to your classes on Canvas

Instructions

In a web browser, click on the search bar at the top and type in my.cecil.edu, then hit enter. This will bring up a page of relevant websites. Near the top, you should see the MyCecil website. Click on this website.

Inside the MyCecil website, you will find a list of Quick Links on the left-hand side. (if you are on a smartphone, scroll down to the section labeled Accessing Quick Links on a Smartphone) Click on the link that says Canvas (circled in red). You can also get to your Cecil College email using the link circled in blue.

After hitting the link you will be brought to a login page, here you will want to enter your Cecil College email address, which is your username followed by @chawk.cecil.edu. An example is shown below.

After that you will be asked to enter your password. If you do not remember your password, call the HelpDesk at 410-287-4357.
Once in canvas, click on your class. You will automatically be put in the home tab, where you can see recent announcments. It is important to check these as this is your professors main way of communicating with you. Your professor gets to customize the look of Canvas, so each class will look slightly different. However, you will have tabs on the left hand side that will let you navigate through the course. Your assignments will probably be in a tab name Assignments, or modules.
 
 
 
 

Accessing Quick Links on a Smartphone

If you are using a smartphone, you may not see the Quick Links tab on the left hand side. This is because the screen is too small to fit it. Instead, you will see a green arrow in the bottom left corner.

Hitting this will pull up a screen with the words Menu and Quick Links at the top. Click on Quick Links to pull up the links.
