How to reset your password in MyCecil

Keep in mind, any password changes made in MyCecil will also change the password within your Email and Canvas accounts.

If you have forgotten your password:

  1. Navigate to my.cecil.edu
  2. Click on the “Forgot Password” tab near the top of the screen

  1. Then click on the forgot password link. You will be taken to a page where you will need to enter your username and email. Typically, your username is everything in your Cecil email address before the @ symbol. If you have both a student email and an employee email, use whichever email you were assigned first. Once you have entered the information, click “Continue”.

  1. Next, you will be brought to a page where you will be required to answer challenge questions. These are answers you would have created when you first set up your account. Once you have entered your answers, hit “Continue”. Note: The answers are NOT case sensitive. 
  2. If you do not remember your challenge questions, email the helpdesk@cecil.edu or call them at 410-287-4357.

  1. Then, you will be brought to a page to change your password. Make sure you are choosing a strong and secure password and not reusing any previous passwords. Confirm the password by typing it again. Click “Continue.

If you want to change your password or challenge questions

  1. Navigate to my.cecil.edu and login to your account 
  2. On the homepage, scroll until you see an area titled “Password Management" on the right side. Click on the “Change Password” link or the “Change Challenge Questions and Answers” depending on what you want to do.

  1. This will bring you to a screen to change your password. Enter your old password, followed by the password you want to be your new password. Confirm your new password by typing it again. Make sure you are using a strong and secure password and not repeating any previous passwords. Click “Continue”.

  1. If you hit change challenge questions instead, you will see drop-down menus to change the questions, and then you can type in the answer to each question.
