EDConnect (Old Finance Software)
Environment
Instructions
Installation:
Have the user sign into their computer. Then, using a web browser, lookup "EDConnect Knowledge Center" and find the correct website. From there, click the newest version of EDConnect, and then download the software, not the documentation or patches.

You can now run the program. You may get a warning saying this software is malicious, you can skip this. It may also ask you to install C++ which it will do automatically once given permission, if it is not already installed. You will then be asked what kind of install you want; Local Install, Local Install - Custom, Network Install, or Workstation Install. Install the Local Install.

Use the default options for the install. When it tries to install the database, it may show a warning saying there is already a database installed. Go ahead and write over it. If the EDConnect Knowledge Center had a patch available, go back and install that now.
When you open the program, you will be asked to authenticate as shown below. Set the Group ID to FSA Administration Group, then ask the user to enter the rest of the needed information. You will need the TG number for later on in the setup.

Once you are in the program, you will need to set up the proper roles. Before you do this, you may be asked to test the connection. Skip this for now. Go to file> new> security view. Then right click the EDConnect parent group. select add group and name it the TG # that the user has. Make sure to include the TG before the number. Now that the group is created, right click it and add the account for the user you are doing this for. For example, Lauren.Lapointe.fsa
Once the user is added, sign out of EDConnect. When you reopen EDConnect, instead of signing into FSA Administration Group, sign into the new security group, named after the TG#. From now on, when the user logs in they will need to set the Group ID to this.
Test Connection
Once you are in, you will be prompted to test your connection. The transmission wizard will appear and you can click through it to start the test. Before allowing you to test, it may prompt you to change the password. See Replacing Default Password below. Once the password is set, you can run the transmission test (accessible in the Transmission tab > test).

Once the test is completed you will see this:

EDConnect should now be ready for use.
Replacing Default Password
You may be prompted to set a new SAIG password, which is used for the mailbox. When this window appears, the user will already have a password for it, all you need to do is type it in. Make sure it is set to LOCAL only so that the password is only set for this user.
