Overview

Mitel keeps track of phone calls coming into and around the college. As you can see in the picture below, the Recent tab in Mitel lets you see the names and numbers of recent callers.

In the contacts tab, you can look up an employee's extension, while the voicemails tab lets you listen to voicemails that have been left.
It is possible to place calls through your computer using Mitel. In the upper left corner there are several dots. This button lets you dial a number.

Call Routing

If you hit the three dots, Settings, and then Call Routing, you can choose to let calls be routed to a mobile phone. This lets you answer the call from your phone.

Accessing voicemail and setting a password

To listen to voicemail on a desk phone, the  user will have to hit the voicemail button on the phone and enter their password for that phone. This password is set up when the user tries to listen to their voicemail for the first time. To do this, they need to hit the voicemail button and type the phone's extension followed by the pound (#) sign. They will then be prompted to set a new password. When entering this password during subsequent times, they will need to hit the pound button at the end again; this button acts like an enter button.

accessing voice mail out of office

If someone wants to listen to their voice mail without being near their actual desk phone, they can dial this number, 4102871050, and then enter their desk phone's number and their password.

Mitel Account Management

Mitel Username

Most people's usernames are their aliases. For the helpdesk, the username is Helpdesk.

Mitel Password

The Mitel password is not the same as the Cecil College password. If someone forgets their Mitel password, contact the Lead Helpdesk Technician or the Director of Networking and Telecommunications. They have Mitel Admin and can reset someone's password.

HelpDesk Setup

The helpdesk shares one Mitel account, so that callers and voicemail shows up on everyone's computer. This also allows settings set on one computer, such as call routing, to be set on all others. Most people on campus have their own individual accounts. Note, because any particular call is being routed to three desk phones, a call may say it was missed even if it was not.

Mitel Server

When Mitel is set up, you will need to enter the Server. For Mitel, this is shoretel.cecilcc.edu
