Canvas Account

Canvas is Cecil College's Learning Management System (LMS). Typically only professors and students have access to Canvas. Teachers use it assign homework and grades to their students, as well as send announcements to keep their students up to date on class proceedings. The students are able to view assignments as well as submit them, and look at their grades throughout the semester. 
Canvas is critical for students and teachers so it important to get problems fixed quickly.

Common Issues

Classes not showing up

If a student says that their class is not showing on Canvas, you should first check when the student registered for their class. Canvas may take a day or so to update and may not show their new class in that period. If they have been registered for a while, or they were able to access their course before, then this may be an issue for the Canvas or LMS manager.

Cannot sign into Microsoft

If this occurs, try having the student use an incognito window and/or clear their browser cache. If this does not work, ask when they registered to see if perhaps the account hasn’t been created yet. If the student should have an account, check Microsoft admin center to see if their was an issue with the licensing.

 Unable to print from Launch LTI

 If the student opens their OneDrive after they have clicked on the link in Canvas, they will be able to find the document in their shared with me folder. Once they open it, they can download and print like normal.
