Privacy Data Subject Rights Request

Cecil College collects and uses personal data as necessary to carry out its educational mission and to comply with applicable domestic and international laws, including the Maryland Online Data Privacy Act (MODPA), where applicable.

Individuals may use this form to submit a data privacy request in accordance with the laws of their state or country of residence. Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy (portability) of your personal data, as well as the right to opt out of certain types of data processing, including targeted advertising, the sale of personal data, or profiling in furtherance of automated decision-making.

The College will review each request and respond in accordance with applicable legal requirements. In most cases, Cecil College will respond within 45 days of receiving a complete request. If additional time is required, you will be notified as permitted by law. Please note that multiple laws may apply to your request; some may grant you specific rights, while others (such as federal or state education, public records, or regulatory requirements) may limit the College’s ability to fulfill certain requests.

If your request is denied in whole or in part, you may have the right to appeal that decision. Information about the appeals process will be provided in the College’s response.

The information you provide in this form will be used solely to verify your identity, locate the data associated with your request, and respond appropriately. All fields are required unless otherwise noted. Failure to provide complete and accurate information may prevent the College from processing your request.

Describe in detail the personal data and Cecil-related program or other activity that pertains to your request. Include time periods, websites, and any other identifying information that will help us respond to your request.

Please be advised that applicable law may allow or require us to refuse to provide access to some or all of the personal data that we hold, or we may have destroyed, erased, or made your personal data anonymous in accordance with our record retention policies and practices. If we cannot fulfill your request, we will inform you of the reasons why, subject to any legal or regulatory restrictions.

Please also be advised that Cecil may take up to one calendar month to respond, though we strive to respond sooner. If we are unable to comply with your request within this timeframe, we may extend the applicable deadline for up to an additional two months by notifying you in writing within the initial one-month period, where permitted by applicable law.
